Do you have fantastic customer service skills and a desire to work in a medical environment?

Wellington SCL Limited is the provider of pathology services to the people of Wellington providing pathology services to the patients of 4 public hospitals, General Practitioners, Medical Specialists, private hospitals and midwives.

We are looking for enthusiastic, willing and competent people with an interest in Phlebotomy to be part of our casual staffing pool in the Wellington region.

This is a public facing role, so to be successful you will have excellent customer service skills, be warm and friendly with a willing attitude and commitment to service delivery.

Our Phlebotomists work collaboratively as part of the team to provide efficient and effective collection services while demonstrating behaviours that reflect Wellington SCL values. Your goal is to provide a professional customer service link between health professionals, their patients and the laboratory.

Teamwork and co-operation between all stakeholders is a primary focus.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Collect and process a range of specimens, according to Wellington SCL procedures
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical competency by developing and maintaining skills in Phlebotomy and other specimen collection procedures
  • Ensure an ethical customer service is provided at all times in accordance with NZIMLS Code of Ethics and the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights
  • Demonstrate cultural and social sensitivity and be sensitive to special needs
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Participate in weekend rosters as required
  • Hold a current full drivers licence
